Today, I want to share with you how I managed to put a code on my iPhone applications to lock a specific app or lock them all at once. Usually, I make videos like this on TikTok or Instagram, but since this topic is a bit more complicated, I decided to share it on YouTube for those who want more tips. I’m also preparing a video with iPhone and Mac tips, so make sure to subscribe for more content.
Let’s get into it. To start, go to your iPhone settings and scroll down to accessibility. At the bottom, you’ll find Guided Access. Make sure it’s enabled. Then, go to code settings and select « Set Guided Access Passcode. » This code will be the password to access your applications. For example, I’ll use 000, but you can choose any code you want.
The next step is to go to shortcuts. Open the Shortcuts app and tap on Automations. Create a personal automation and select the applications you want to lock. For example, let’s choose Air France and Airbnb. Then, tap Next and add an action. Search for « Guided Access » in the settings and select it. Follow the instructions and make sure to disable the option before execution.
Now, let’s test it out. Open Airbnb and you’ll see that the application is locked. To unlock it, press the side button three times to turn off Guided Access. This will prompt you to enter the code. Once entered, you can exit the application.
What’s interesting is that Guided Access not only locks the application but also disables other functions like keyboard input, volume buttons, and even the side button. This ensures that no one can navigate through the app without knowing your Guided Access code, which is different from your iPhone unlock code.
This method works with any type of iPhone application, whether it’s a native iOS app like the Alarm app or third-party apps like Airbnb. It’s a great way to add an extra layer of security to your apps.
