Managing both your Instagram and Facebook accounts separately can be a real hassle, especially when you want to publish the same content on both platforms. Fortunately, it is now possible to fully synchronize an Instagram account with a Facebook account or page. This means you can synchronize your posts, stories, and even reels. Let me show you how.
To begin, go to your Instagram profile and activate the option to share all your posts. You can do this by accessing the settings through the three lines in the top right corner. Select « Settings » and then the « Account » tab. Here, you will find the option « Share to Other Apps. » Choose Facebook. If your Facebook account is already connected to your phone, it should appear. If not, select « This Isn’t Me » and log in with your Facebook credentials. If you want to share your Instagram posts on a Facebook page, you can continue with your personal account as long as you are an administrator of the page.
Next, confirm the permissions and press « Share on Facebook. » You will see the option to select the profile on which you want to share your posts. You can choose to automatically share Instagram posts, stories, and even configure reels by pressing « Configure. » Confirm the authorization, and your Instagram profile will be set up to share all your posts on your Facebook profile.
Now, let’s test it together. We will provide an example for each type of publication. On your Instagram profile, create a new post and make sure to activate the « Share on Facebook » button before publishing. When you check your Facebook profile, you will see the same post displayed.
Let’s move on to stories. Create a story on your Instagram profile, and then check your Facebook profile. By selecting your Facebook profile picture, you will see the Instagram story appear on your Facebook homepage. You can also find it under the « Your Story » tab.
Lastly, let’s synchronize a reel with a Facebook page. First, make sure to set up your Instagram account to synchronize with the Facebook page you administrate. Follow the same steps as before, selecting the Facebook page in the « Share on » section. Create a reel and check the settings to ensure that the « Share on Facebook » option is activated. Publish the reel, and you will see it appear on your Instagram profile. If you go to the Facebook page you administrate, you will find the reel displayed prominently on the homepage and in the reels library.
By following this methodology, you can synchronize your Instagram and Facebook accounts without having to publish the same content twice. It’s an efficient way to reach a broader audience with minimal effort. Please note that currently, this sharing feature works only from Instagram to Facebook. It is possible that Meta will release an update in the future to enable sharing in the opposite direction.
