Today, I will show you how I set a code to lock specific applications on my iPhone or lock all of them at once. Usually, I make videos like this on TikTok or Instagram, but since this topic is a bit more complex, I decided to share it on YouTube. If you want more tips and tricks, I’m preparing a video with iPhone and Mac hacks, so make sure to subscribe. Now, let’s get into it!
To begin, go to the Settings on your iPhone. Scroll down and tap on Accessibility. At the bottom, you’ll find Guided Access. Make sure it’s enabled. Next, go to Passcode Settings and select Set Guided Access Passcode. Choose a code that will serve as your password to access the locked applications. For example, I’ll use 000, but you can choose any code you prefer.
The next step is to go to Shortcuts. Open the app and tap on Automation. Create a personal automation and select Applications. Here, you can choose the applications you want to lock. Let’s say, for example, Air France and Airbnb. Tap Next and then Add Action. Search for Guided Access in the settings and select it. Tap Next and make sure to disable what is requested before execution. Now, you can tap Done.
Once you’ve completed these steps, go to the Airbnb app, and you’ll see that it’s locked. The phone itself is locked on the application. To unlock it, press the side button three times. Then, enter your password. The app will be unlocked, and you can use it. What’s interesting is that you can disable certain features like touch, keyboard, volume buttons, or even the side button. This way, no one can navigate or use the application without knowing your Guided Access code, which is different from your iPhone unlock code.
This method works well with any type of iPhone application, whether it’s a native iOS app like the Alarm app or third-party apps like Airbnb.
